Day 1
Sofia

Morning arrival to Sofia and a short sightseeing tour of the city - Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the 4-th century St. George Rotonda, the Mosque, the Synagogue. After lunch we drive to the foot of Vitosha Mountain to visit the National History Museum and the amazing Boyana church with astonishing 13-th century frescoes (UNESCO Site). Dinner and overnight stay in Sofia.

Day 2
Sofia

Morning departure to Rila Mountain to visit the 10-th century Rila Monastery - the biggest and most important in Bulgaria, included in UNESCO's Cultural Heritage List. Visit Hrelio Tower and the museum. We have lunch in the mountain and after a short break we return to Sofia. In the evening, traditional dinner and dance show. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 3
Plovdiv

After breakfast we depart to Plovdiv. Sightseeing tour of Plovdiv - Bulgarian second largest city and one of the oldest human settlements in Europe. Visit the Ancient Theatre, Ethnographic museum etc. Wine tasting in the village of Brestovitsa. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4
Veliko Tarnovo

Today we drive to the town of Kazanlak located in the heart of the Rose valley. Here we visit the Thracian tomb of Kazanlak (UNESCO SIte) and Shipka Memorial Church. In the afternoon we pass the Balkan Mountains to descend in Veliko Tarnovo. Visit Tsarevets fortress and Crafts street (Samovodska Charshiya complex). Dinner and overnight.

Day 5
Varna

Morning departure to Shumen. On the way we stop at Madara village to visit UNESCO's listed Madara Rider. After lunch we continue to the Black Sea and the town of Varna for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6
Varna

In the morning we drive down south along the Black Sea coast to visit the more than 3,000-year-old town of Nessebar. Famous with its numerous churches, medieval temples, remains of fortress walls and fortifications of different epochs. Evening transfer to Varna for dinner and overnight.

Day 7
Bucharest

After breakfast we head to Romania. On the way visit the UNESCO's Rock Churches of Ivanovo. We cross Danube River at Ruse where we take a short break. Evening arrival in Bucharest for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8
Sibiu

Morning tour of Bucharest. Visit the Parliament Palace, Revolution Square, the National Art Museum. In the afternoon we drive to Sibiu - capital of the Principality of Transylvania one of the most important cultural centers of Romania, visit the Evangelical Cathedral. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9
Brasov

After breakfast we go on a walking tour in Sibiu. Visit the Large and Huet Squares, the Liars' Bridge and Orthodox Cathedral. Depart for Sighisoara, the best preserved medieval citadel in Romania, part of UNESCO World Heritage List. Upon arrival, serve lunch in local restaurant and visit the city including the Clock Tower Museum. Depart for Brasov for dinner and overnight.

Day 10
Sinaia

In the morning, city tour of Brasov including visit to St. Nicholas Church and Black Chuch. Depart for Bran for lunch in local restaurant and visit of Bran Castle, made famous by Bram Stoker's novel as the residence of the vampire count, Dracula. Drive on to Azuga for wine tasting and then continue to Sinaia for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11
Bucharest

Morning sightseeing in Sinaia. Visit Peles Castle - one of the best-preserved royal palaces in Europe and Sinaia Monastery. After lunch we drive back to Bucharest. Farewell dinner at a folklore restaurant and overnight stay in Bucharest.

Day 12
Bucharest

Free morning. Depart hotel for Bucharest Airport (time to be advised).
